College Visit Days (also see College Info)
Colleges (Universities-Tech Schools) host preview days for students to come to campus and learn more about what that institution offers. Check with the counseling office or the school's website to register for a preview day or to set up a individual tour.

Technical School Events
Technical schools often host events for prospective students to get a first hand look at the program they are interested in applying for. Below is a limited list - check with the school to see what is offered for the program you are interested in!

There are endless opportunities for young people to experience career options first hand. Some programs provide a glimpse into careers others build on skills such as leadership. This list highlights just a few of the opportunities that are out there.

Youth Business Adventure DUE DATE: END of Feb Help students better understand private enterprise and how businesses operate
HOBY Leadership Conference DUE DATE: November Leadership seminar designed to promote global citizenship and volunteerism.
Rural Electric Youth Tour DUE DATE: Mar. 20, 2013 Opportunity to spend seven days in Washington D.C. seeing the sites, learning a lot, and job shadowing in Congressional Offices.
Health Professionals Career Camp Register by:
April 15th
Camp aimed at informing, educating, and inspiring students about the many careers available in the health professions.

SD Rural Electric Youth Excursion DUE DATE: May 20, 2013 3 day event geared to help students learn more about electric cooperatives.
